Once you know how supporters have engaged with your emails, you can put that information to work. EveryAction lets you build lists of contacts based on specific email behaviors — so you can follow up with exactly the right people.
Before You Begin
- You have access to Create a List in EveryAction.
- Emails have been sent from your account.
Time estimate: 5–10 minutes
Step 1: Navigate to Create a List
Start from the EveryAction Home Page.
- From the left-hand sidebar, navigate to Create a List.
- If you don't see this option, use the Search for a page field and type Create a List.
Step 2: Use the Targeted Emails Section
In Create a List, find the Targeted Emails section. Use this to search for contacts based on specific email results.
Examples of what you can search for:
- Anyone sent an email in the last six months who did not open it
- Anyone who opened an email but did not click any links
- Anyone who clicked a link in an email within a specific date range
Step 3: Use Targeted Email Summaries (Optional)
For filtering based on timing, use the Targeted Email Summaries section. This allows you to filter contacts by the most recent date they were:
- Sent an email
- Opened an email
- Clicked a link in an email
This is useful for targeting or excluding contacts based on their recent email engagement.
Tip: You can also use this section to identify contacts in your machine open segment, making it easier to reach them through other outreach channels instead.
Step 4: Save Your List
- Review your filter criteria.
- Run the search to see your results.
- Click Save List As in My List to save your list for follow-up outreach.
Not quite what you were searching for?
- Navigate back to the Understanding Email Performance & Tracking Resource Index.
