Contribution Management Overview 

 

Contributions are the backbone of your fundraising efforts in Bonterra Development. Whether you're processing one-time gifts, recurring donations, or managing complex transactions, the system provides robust tools to track every aspect of your contribution workflow. 

 

Getting Started 

 

Access contribution management features through the left-hand sidebar under Reporting > Fundraising Management or by searching for specific contribution features in the search bar. Your permission level determines which contribution functions you can access, from basic data entry to advanced financial reconciliation tools. 

 

Feature details 

 

Contributions in EveryAction can be tracked in multiple ways - individually added to contact records, through bulk uploads, via online forms, or through financial batches. Each contribution includes details like payment method, designation, amount, date, and attribution information. 

 

The system provides tools to manage the complete contribution lifecycle: 

  • Adding contributions through quick entry or financial batches 
  • Tracking settlement status to reconcile with your bank accounts 
  • Processing adjustments like refunds, chargebacks, or NSF returns 
  • Acknowledging donors with receipts and thank-you communications 

 

Tracking your Success / Reporting 

 

Track your contribution success through the Fundraising Management dashboard, which provides visual representations of funds raised and helps you manage day-to-day tasks. You can also use Contribution Reports and Contribution Aggregates to analyze giving patterns, measure fundraising performance, and identify opportunities for growth.

How can a recurring contributor update/increase their amount?

Hi ​@ndphillipsgoodrum,

Your donor may access their account and update their recurring gift amount directly through your self-service pages—provided you have enabled the "Increase Commitment Amount" option during setup. They log in, view their active recurring commitments, and modify the amount up to the maximum allowed by your payment processor ($999,999.99). The system processes this immediately, and they receive email confirmation of the upgrade.

Should the donor require assistance, your support team can modify recurring commitments directly within EveryAction. Access the contributor's record, locate their active recurring commitment, and update the amount. The system will process the new amount at the next scheduled payment date—unless you intentionally adjust that date as well.
