Feature Overview: EveryAction’s Donor Segmentation

Donor Segmentation with Que

Bonterra Que’s Donor Segmentation skill helps fundraisers generate strategic, ready-to-use donor lists using both built-in DonorTrends models and custom natural language queries. Drawing on predictive analytics, historical giving behavior, and now real-time query interpretation, Que supports two powerful ways to build audiences:

  • Pre-built, model-driven segments (e.g., lapsed donors, sustainer prospects)

  • Custom segments created from plain-language prompts (e.g., giving behavior, location, activist codes)

Within the chat interface, users can ask Que to:

  • “Find lapsed donors likely to return.”

  • “Show me donors who gave more than $100 this year in California.”

Que translates these requests into structured queries, returning a previewable, ready-to-use segment with key stats like audience size, average gift, and recency. Users can review how the segment was built, refine it through follow-up prompts, or open it in Create a List for deeper customization.

What can Donor Segmentation with Que do for you?

Bonterra Que’s Donor Segmentation skill helps Marcus, a Major Gifts Associate at a national education nonprofit, quickly identify donors worth prioritizing for outreach. With the quarter ending soon, Marcus opens Que and types: “Can you help me find donors who might be ready to give more?”

Que responds with a model-driven segment of mid-level donors likely to upgrade, including key stats like segment size, average gift, and lifetime value, along with an explanation of why they’re a strong audience. Marcus then refines his targeting by asking: “Only show those who gave at least $250 this year and live in New York.”

Que updates the segment in real time, showing the revised audience and clearly displaying the filters used. Marcus previews the list, removes a few names already in stewardship, and saves it for outreach. No spreadsheets. No manual filter building. Just fast, flexible segmentation.
