We have been using Every Action for about 3 years, 1.5 I have been utilizing it as a staff member. We were not utilizing all tracking under each Source Code to its full extent - in some instances incorrectly. I am going to be optimizing all of our source codes going into our next FY. We will start with our Impact Report / Appeal as a starting point. I want to track all levels of giving and am wanting to have potentially 10 source codes for each as outlined below. I am seeking feedback, thoughts on how others are tracking for say donors in all of these categories across both DM and Online. Individual, Corporate, Municipal, Foundations, Community Organizations. I am thinking at least ten codes because I want to pull reporting easily instead of my normal practice of pulling out the few non individual donors each time I report. Thoughts on this approach? - below is the individual donor example.

Thanks, Jon

Jon,

This looks really good and easily maintained over time which will add to the value.

One point worth considering: I’m not sure about the size and scope of your fundraising but this is a lot for gift processors and staff to remember to add and there’s a certain amount of space for mistakes.

That said, data hygiene is a part of life so it’s not the biggest deal to create mechanisms for reviewing contributions to make sure everything is lining up correctly.

Thanks, I did some adjustments because I know that every action allows for goals to be placed in the system and match to revenue stream so I actually placed our internal finance revenue codes as the revenue stream so that I can use that tool as well.

I agree its a lot of codes. Reporting out to the BOD and others ask for a granularity that I have been able to offer in the past but with more manual review of data. This manner will allow for me to pull better numbers easier from the system immediately. Parsing out who donated during a campaign in the se 5 buckets has been an ask and so for me, clean data in means clean data out.
