I am using filters in Network for Good to segment donors into groups by giving level over the last 12 months. I am using “Total household donations over custom date range” and when the list is generated, only one member of the household shows up. Why don’t both members (if applicable) show up on the list? The filter states household donations, so wouldn’t that include the donations for the entire household? I am attempting to capture them as Giving Units and not individuals, since that is how they give, but the other individual is showing up with $0 donated in the same custom date range, even if they were grouped in the household and checked as a co-donor at the time the gift was recorded. Or is there a better way this information could be extracted?

Hi @TPerry -- Pulling a Filter in the Contacts tab, I am seeing people. So “Total household donation amount (custom date range)” would pull in anyone who is a part of a household that meets that threshold. For example, if John and Jane are in a household together and John has given $5,000 in total, that same filter would show both John and Jane because their household in total has given $5000.

Pulling that same Filter in the Giving tab. I am seeing donations. So “Total household donation amount (custom date range)” would pull in any donations that made a household meet that threshold. For example, if John and Jane are in a household together and John has given $5,000 in total (and is the only donor), that filter would just show John’s donations. If Jane was a co-donor and given co-donor credit for the donations, then her name would show up on John’s donations under “with co-donor...”.

Does this clear it up? If you are pulling it in Contacts and not seeing both people, to me that means that the software is not doing what it’s supposed to and I’d recommend sending our support team an email at success@networkforgood.com

Hi @TPerry! I am checking on this for you. Just to clarify, you are pulling this filter under the giving tab and want to see both members of the household with the donation allocated to them, correct?

Hi @Charles Case This explanation helps. Honestly I’m not sure if I was running it under Contacts or Giving. I will go back and run it both ways and see. This explanation helps me understand the mechanics better as to why it may not pick up the data like I am anticipating so it will help me filter for better criteria in the future.

I’ll run again in Contacts and if I don’t see both people I’ll contact support. Thanks so much for this reply!
