We received a check for $2,500. That is the “Silver” level of sponsorship for our upcoming fundraiser. Is this a sponsorship for our event or is this a check for donations received? Please let me know so my fiscal department can allocate it appropriately.

Hi @Kasey Madden! This depends on how your organization is categorizing sponsorships. When you use the event platform through NFG, there is a place where you can add sponsorship levels (silver, gold, etc.). If your organization has an event set up with a silver sponsorship level, that’s how I would recommend adding this as an offline sponsorship payment.

To add an offline sponsorship, you will go to manage your event page, go to the ticket and sponsorships tab, and then scroll down to your sponsorship levels. Next to each level there is an arrow that you’ll click to add an offline (check) sponsor.

Just so you know, I will not be in office for the rest of the week so tagging my colleague, @Charles Case in case you have some follow up questions.

Ask your donor what their intentions were for the donation, then you will know how to record it in your books.
