Workaround for offline auctions

Has anyone found a good workaround for entering offline auctions?  The Auction process is cumbersome to say the least. I’d like to be able to just enter the auction purchase (item, purchase price, and value) in donor management but would like to categorize it as an auction vs. a donation.  Ideas?

Thanks!

Hi @Ainslie Groark ! The only way for an auction transaction to appear as the transaction type “Auction Purchase” in the donor management system is for the transaction details to sync from NFG’s auction platform directly.

You are welcome to add custom fields to a donation record that gives you the ability to track auction related information. You can make a custom field for item description, purchase price (although I assume this is the same as donation amount) and fair market value.

However, keep in mind that any “out of the box” reporting will always include this transaction as a donation transaction type because it was manually added to the donor management system. Donation records are the only types of transactions that can be manually added to the system.

The other three transaction types (Auction purchase, Sponsorship purchase, ticket purchase) are only used via a synced transaction from an NFG auction of NFG ticketing page.
