Is there a way for a new online gift to automatically fulfill an existing pledge?

If we enter a pledge for a donation from a donor and then that donor goes online and makes a donation in the exact amount and to the same campaign as the pledge we have on file for them, is there a way for it to map to their existing pledge, or do we need to always manually review individual donor profiles and see if we need to manually attribute their gift to a pledge?

Hi Erica,

You can auto-attribute all donations someone makes to their existing pledge. To do so:

  1. In Donor Management, go to Settings > Your Organization
  2. Select the Fundraising tab (or scroll down if you don’t see that in your software--new update!), and find Pledges
  3. You should see a toggle for “Auto-link Donations” that you can turn on:

“If enabled, new donations that are imported or come in through an integration will be auto-linked to pledges if the donor has a pledge with unfulfilled installments.”
