Stock/securities and DAF donations

Hi y’all,

Does anyone have advice on how to note a stock/securities or DAF gift in the CRM? I don’t see it as an option in the Donation Payment Method field. Are folks just selecting "other” and then making a note in the “Payment Description” or “Donation Notes” fields?

This is something we’ve just started figuring out ourselves! We haven’t come across stock yet, so this is only for DAF gifts.  I enter the payment method in the way we received it (check or ACH, typically).  In the Payment Description field, I enter that it was via a DAF. Our newest addition to the process is a custom field where we enter where the DAF is held (Fidelity Charitable, for example) and any other information that comes with the gift. We have had instances in the past where we don’t get anything other than where the DAF is, so having this information lets us search past gifts to narrow down possible donors.

    We are also looking at creating a custom field to capture this kind of data. Our board is interested in knowing how often we receive gifts of assets or wealth and we have to manually parse that info out of the payment description. It would be great if NFG would amend the payment field to include these kinds of gifts so their clients don’t have to create these fields.

      I added a custom field with checkboxes: Employee Giving Program, DAF, QCD, etc.
